It’s best to use a per-baked crust instead of freshly made dough…it makes the grilling much easier. You can also use flatbreads or cooked naan bread. Anything flat & doughy.
I’m making two pies, but cut the ingredients in half if you only want to make one.
What you need:
- 2 pizza crusts
- Oil, preferably sunflower oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce, I’m using pomodoro
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
- Handful of sweet pepper, sliced
- Half an onion sliced
- Optional, pork sausage
If you want to put sausage on your pizza, please precook a little piece before you head to the grill.
Heat your grill to medium high about 400F.
First, quickly grill your peppers and onions until they get a little charred. At the same time, slather some oil on you crusts and grill the tops.
Then, flip the crust over and layer sauce then cheese then toppings. Bake for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy!
Let cool slightly before cutting into your pie. Serve hot!
